NAIROBI City Thunder retained their Kenya National Basketball League title on Friday night after defeating Kenya Ports Authority 74-70.
The Thunder, Kenya’s team for the last two seasons, won the finals 3-0 and secured a treble of titles for the Nairobi-based club. Thunder captain Tylor Okari, who led the club to all their championships, won Finals MVP, while Derrick Ogechi won the Regular Season MVP. KPA’s Jason Kesseng won the Defensive Player of the Year, while Thunder coach Brad Ibs won the Coach of the Year.
The Thunder’s domestic title win means they will head to the Elite 16 of the 2027 Road to BAL, a tournament they have won in the last two seasons.
