RIVERS Hoopers reclaimed the Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) title and reaffirmed themselves as one of the country’s most successful clubs.
The Kingsmen dethroned last season’s champions, Maktown Flyers, in a nail-biting 92-90 encounter on Tuesday.
The Hoopers’ seventh trophy win equalled Kano Pillars’ NBPL trophy record and saw the club, led by former D’Tigers player, coach and 2024 BAL Coach of the Year Ogoh Odaudu, return to next season’s Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Hoopers have competed in the BAL three times, qualifying twice for the playoffs, and finished third in 2024.
