A surprising turn of events has unfolded within the technical team of Côte d’Ivoire club JCA Kings.
Following the announcement of former coach Emmanuel Mavomo’s appointment in September, the Kings took to social media on Wednesday to confirm they had parted ways with him.
The statement said Mavomo, a former Democratic Republic of Congo national team coach, extended his stay at a training camp with NBA franchise Detroit Pistons, which compromised his availability for JCA and their Road to BAL Elite 16 Division West campaign later this month.
Taking over from Mavomo is former Madagascar national team coach John Douaglin, who led the island nation at the FIBA World Cup Africa Qualifiers between February and March.
